Kylian Mbappé scored on his debut for Real Madrid as the La Liga giants celebrated winning the UEFA Super Cup with a 2-0 win over Atalanta. The reigning UEFA Champions League winners had to wait until the second half for their first goal when Federico Valverde put them in front. After some great preparatory work from Jude Bellingham, Mbappé doubled their lead shortly afterwards to cap off a dominant performance. Juan Musso forced some fine saves from Vinicius and Jude Bellingham, but the Atalanta goalkeeper was powerless and nine minutes later Bellingham delivered a fine through ball for Mbappé to slot into the net and double the Whites' lead.

All the excitement leading up to this match revolved around Mbappé's impending debut since his surprise move from Paris Saint-Germain. Despite enduring a generally subdued first half, it didn't take long for him to adjust to life as a Galactico.
