EM 2024: Spain beats France to reach final, goal to enter final....

Both captains are ready for the match

Three-time champions Spain have become the first team to win six European Championships and are one match away from a record fourth title.

France, a finalist in three of the last four Grand Slams, has an enviable attacking prowess, raising the question of why they have failed to impress offensively.

On Tuesday, Spain came from behind to beat France 2-1, meaning they are in their first major final in 12 years at Euro 2024, where they will face either the Netherlands or England. Randal Kolo Mouani's header gave France an early lead, but Lamine Yamal equalized with a brilliant strike, becoming the youngest scorer in the tournament's history. Danny Olmos' goal in the 25th minute was the winner...

Making the French national team
France had only scored three goals before the match, none of which were scored by French players from play. Coach Didier Decamp responded by benching striker Antoine Griezmann for Ousmane Dembele.
Yamal has already provided three assists at Euro 2024, beating the previous record by a year and a half and becoming the youngest scorer in the tournament's history.
Lamine Yamal became the tournament's youngest scorer as Spain rallied to beat France 2-1 in Munich on Tuesday and reach the Euro 2024 final. Spain took the lead in the ninth minute when Kylian Mbappé's cross was headed in by Randal Kolo Muani, but within four minutes they had turned the game around, scoring twice against a team that had conceded just one goal in their previous five games in the tournament.

Yamar, who turns 17 on the eve of Sunday's final against the Netherlands or England in Berlin, tied the game with a superb shot from outside the penalty area, smashing the ball from long range into the top corner and into the fingertips of Mike Maignan. It was in the air, but it was shot through.

Spain took the lead in the 25th minute when Dani Olmo expertly received a loose ball and took advantage of a Jules Koundé deflection to smash a low shot into the net.

Masters of midfield control, Spain made it all clear after taking the lead, often holding onto the ball rather than attacking on the counter, and controlled the game to win.

Yamal created the first scoring opportunity of the game four minutes later, sending a curling cross to an unmarked Fabian Ruiz who headed the ball over the goal from close range. Yamal Lamine celebrates a beautiful goal

Four minutes later, Mbappé raced down the left wing to slot in Yamal's cross, but Kolo Mouani headed it in and France took the lead.

Before the match, doubts had been cast on Spain's veterans Jesús Navas (38) and Nacho (34), who replaced the suspended Dani Carvajal and Robin Le Normand, but Kolo Mouani's opening goal was scored by youngsters Aymeric Laporte and Marc Cucurella...

France's goal seemed to have taken the wind out of Spain's sails, but it was the youngest player on the pitch who scored the equaliser with a brilliant move.
